Two farm sheds in a sea of green, one a 500 year old ruin and the other its 100 year old replacement. The evening before brought brooding storm clouds followed by clashes of lightning and torrential rain. This image is the morning view from Villa Dafne Agritorismo situated just below the town of Alia, Sicily. The rain had stopped and the sun was preparing to peek through the clouds…click!

  1. I love your image Two Sheds. To leave the 400 year old shed in ruins in place rather than hauling off those rocks…we just don’t do that here. And that the other shed is only 100 years just shows how they build things to last. No built in obsolescence there.

  2. I’m afraid you may be right. Considering that the US, as we know it, has a history of only 242 years, well, that’s a blink of an eye in time. All things considered, it might not take that long to at all to be completely dismantle and scatter to the winds…George Orwell appears to be correct.
