Clouds Over Downtown Los Angeles
Clouds Over Downtown Los Angeles – California, USA
This photograph of feathery clouds against a deep blue sky was captured on the rooftop of Texere Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles in late afternoon. I waited for when I thought the sea-gull was is in exactly the right spot within the frame.

sukiyama02. What makes this image for me is the seagull in the upper left corner of the frame. It is as if the gull is being chased by upswept, oncoming clouds.

Ah, you know I’m a sucker for clouds. This is stunning and a most unusual cloud formation…all feathery and like a ballet…

I know you are Lezlie. In fact, your Painted Cloud series was the impetus for this photo. Finally, I was able to see a sky as the sole subject in a photograph. These clouds warranted it…demanded it! I did not tilt the camera to get this angled composition. The camera was level with the horizon. “Ballet” is a nice analogy. I like that!

I am honored that my Painted Clouds have inspired you to direct your eye away from Terra Firma and into the Terra Nullius of the skyscape. It is a beautiful world up there as well and inhabited with ethereal visions worthy of being captured as you have done so elegantly in this image.
