View Between Trees – Autumn North Carolina

My heart began to pound as I looked through the break in the tree line. Once again, I was overwhelmed by the majesty of the Smoky Mountains. I was thinking, today I will make the capture and tomorrow I will write a protest email to the Tennessee Valley Authority…which provides most of the smoke in the Great Smoky Mountains.

The foreground is classic Kodachrome 64 on a sunny day, but the sky has the look of Fujichrome Velvia due to a Kaesemann circular polarizer over the lens.

  1. What a heart stopping scene. This has taken my breath away! This scene really does go on for miles. There is depth to the sky with the different shades of blue. The mountains lend a vista of greater depth taking the eye further into the scene.
The autumn colours are so bright but it is the yellow that stands out the most to me.
Here is a place that I could stand and look at for a very long time, I would not want to leave the beauty that you found.
