Saguaro Sunset
When you begin to love a patch of land, the earth under your feet, the scent of it after a rain…you become part of it. You want to portray it all…to capture its essence in a single image.

My but this is a wonderful, serene, sunset. Although the colours are soft they still make the sky alive with light and colour!
I like the cloud that looks like a bird in flight!

I’m glad you like it Nature’s Child. It is the soft afterglow of a more intense sunset…which is sometimes more heartwarming than the zenith.
These cloud birds you mention seem to follow me.

You have a stash of Kodachrome? 😁

I could have done that. I used to buy Kodachrome by the brick (20 rolls). Instead, I decided to move on to a new world…digital imaging.
Also, I didn’t have enough room in my fridge. 😉

Yes, I agree. My heart and lens have recently been captured by “a patch of land” out here in the high desert. So many reasons why, you have presented in this magical image. It is a unique environment beyond compare. The sunsets and sunrises like this are spectacular. And the clouds, they make me smile. The silhouetted flora beautifully shows the diversity of desert plant life. I think this is one of my favorite of your images. The words you have put to it describe what every nature photographer hopes to find. And you have done what every photographer of nature hopes to be able to do…show nature as the fine art she is.

I think you are right on this Lezlie. I used to think that landscapes were pretty, but were they really art? As you point out, if you are capturing nature…by definition it is art!
I’m glad you found your patch.
