Wi-Fi In The Hills
I went hiking with my camera the other day on Mt. Hollywood, but saw nothing inspiring. It wasn’t until I returned to the trailhead that I noticed a very new sign on a very old street lamp and realized that hiking would never be the same. You can now hike the Hollywood Hills glued to your iPhone or Droid, and maybe even order a new Toyota while on the trail…so this is my photographic statement for this week on Blog-Bisogno.com.

Lezlie Gwynn: Although this is a statement, it is also a photograph and that’s all about light. The colors in ”Wi Fi In The Hills” got a huge helping hand from light filtering through the smoke produced by the wildfire in Canyon Country. Thanks for liking it.

The statement is sadly comical. The golden light is magnificent throughout and the serpentine rock work is lovely. How ironic that the glass globe of the street light has the same hues as the sun filtered through the smoke and trees. Isn’t it something how light manifests! It’s always something how you capture it. You love and understand light better than anyone I know….

My quest for understanding light began by going to lighting school, but that doesn’t mean jack. You begin to understand light when you’re in nature waiting for the light to manifest itself (as you aptly put it). You patiently wait for the light…the zenith.

marktoner1: Thanks for liking ”Wi Fi In The Hills”. I can understand taking snapshots with a phone while hiking. I get that…but when several couples enter my frame to take the same shot I’m taking, I get a little edgy. The light waits for no one. 😉

WI-FI?????? How does someone enjoy being out in nature when they are glued to their phone?
I am a person who loves to be in nature.
My phone is on vibrate tucked in my camera backpack and I am glued to the sights and sounds of nature as I walk.

Being Nature’s Child and a long time follower of Blog-Bisogno.com, I knew you would be incensed by this image which made it even more fun to post, but I hear your message loud and clear…and just think how pretty the scene would have been without the Toyota/Free Wi-Fi sign.
