What struck me about this scene were the horizontal bands of fresh spring grass, nearly neutral reeds, stone and mortar wall, and lightning bolt yellow forsythia.

    • Linearity is very beautiful when it comes from nature. Things seem to be larger than life when they are positioned so as to look like they are built on top of each other purposely drawing the eye upwards. As my eye traveled up from the reeds it continued past the stone wall to the bright yellow of the Forsythia to the soft pinkish hue in the sky only to be arrested by the yellow border that matched the forsythia!
