Executive Portraits by O. Bisogno Scotti
Executive Portrait by O. Bisogno Scotti, fotografia-LA, 4214 1/4 Fulton Ave., Studio City, California, USA
This is one of many executive portraits captured on film in the little studio on Fulton Avenue. An Elinchrom 60″ Octa was the key light on camera left about 3′ from the subject which created the large, sumptuous catch lights in the subjects eyes. A 27″ soft box with an interior baffle to subdue hotspots was on camera right as a fill light. A Westcott white reflector was on the floor in front of the subject pointing up on an angle to eliminate any unflattering shadows under the eyes and chin. The unlit white background was allowed to go light/mid-tone gray.

sukiyama02. Thanks for liking this portrait. Captured on Ektachrome 100 color transparency film, it was scanned and converted to b&w in Photoshop and brown toned in PhotoKit by Pixel Genius (Photoshop plugin). In the wet darkroom days, I would have soaked the print in a tray of coffee to get the brown tone effect.

I prefer to think of it that way. It is more magical than scientific…the magic of light and shadow.
