Year of the Dragon 1

Year of the Dragon 1 – Old Chinatown Plaza, Downtown Los Angeles, California, USA

Of all the captures I made last Sunday, I thought these young ladies typified the heart and soul of the 2012 Year of the Dragon Chinese New Year Celebration.

  1. Thanks Dawn. I find the Asian color palette fascinating as it is so different than our own western version.

    It was an honor to take part in the Los Angeles Chinese New Year Celebration of The year of the Dragon. I would have loved to be born in the Year of the Dragon, but unfortunately I am a pig. The Chinese zodiac doesn’t make it sound too bad though:

    Honest, gallant, sturdy, sociable, peace-loving, patient, loyal, hard-working, trusting, sincere, calm, understanding, thoughtful, scrupulous, passionate, and intelligent. Can be naïve, over-reliant, self-indulgent, gullible, fatalistic, and materialistic.

    I’ll take that! 🙂

  2. What brilliant colours, beautiful ladies and poses, their makeup is stunning!
    I bet it was hard to find something else that was so refreshing to the eye { I mean lens!}

    You must have had a wonderful day for your parade?

    I too am a pig! What month are you?

    • Chinese New Year Celebration seems to get better every year in Los Angeles Chinatown. My downtown loft is walking distance so I’m over there all the time. I Love Chinese food!

      The festivities were non stop over two days so there was plenty to capture.

      I think it was around 70 and partly sunny. Perfect!

      I’m sorry to hear that Marina. 🙂 October
