  1. Seeing this photo reminds me of a woman, considered to be the first woman fisherman/woman in Ontario. She also owned cottages by the lake where our family would go in the summer and a tuck shop to buy things so you wouldn’t haven to go into the town. This was her love…fishing.

    The woman in this picture HAS to do this for a living, most likely, and the sight of her with her head down would indicate this is work, not pleasure. You do what you have to, to get by in South Korea, I would imagine.

    Thank you, Bisogno, for making me think about this on this day.

    Yes, it was definitely work for this woman as her body language indicates. The image was taken in Wando, a small island off the southern tip of the Korean peninsula. It is only a few hundred yards off the mainland and is connected by a bridge. I was there to catch a ferry to some of the islands in the Korea Straight. Arriving there about four hours early, I had time roam the docks and watch the small fishing vessels come in with their catch for the day.
