Saguaro Flower

To my knowledge, it is highly unusual for a saguaro to flower anywhere other than on the top, or at the ends of an arm. Below is an example of a flower sprouting directly out of the trunk about 3/4 of the way up.

    • It is like it’s saying, “I’m a beautiful flower, but don’t even think about touching me!”

It is rare when a Saguaro has a bloom on the side of it’s trunk. They usually bloom on the top and the tips of the arms.
